HISEA-1: The First C-Band SAR Miniaturized Satellite for Ocean and Coastal Observation

نویسندگان

چکیده

On 22 December 2020, HISEA-1, the first C-band SAR small satellite for ocean remote sensing, was launched from coastal Wenchang launch site. Though in weight, images it produced have a high spatial resolution of 1 m and large observation width 100 km. The batch obtained within week after confirmed rich information data, including sea ice, wind, wave, rip currents, vortexes, ships, oil film on sea, as well landmark buildings. Furthermore, geometric characteristics wind vector, wave parameter, 3D features buildings, some air-sea interface phenomena dark spots could also be detected relevant processing. All these indicate that HISEA-1 reliable, remarkable, powerful instrument observing oceans lands.

A new C-band SAR for ERS-1 underflights

Since 1986 the Electromagnetics Institute, the Technical University of Denmark, has designed, build and tested a high resolution airborne C-band Synthetic Aperture Radar, SAR. The first test flights took place in November and December 1989. The radar design has been based on digital technology to the largest possible extent, to make the system as adaptable as possible. This has resulted in a ve...

Land Cover Classification Using Combinations of L- and C-band Sar and Optical Satellite Images

Whereas C-band SAR data mainly provides information on the upper layer of land covers, properties of the lower surfaces can be captured using L-band SAR because of its higher capability of penetration. Moreover, optical imagery illuminates different characteristics of ground surfaces compared to radar images since they are obtained at different frequencies of the electro-magnetic spectrum. Henc...

Three-dimensional of coastal front reconstruction using RADARSAT-1 SAR satellite data

Natural phenomena that are imaged using remote sensing satellite data can be reconstructed in 3-D. This process can be accomplished either by active or passive methods. The active methods interfere with the reconstructed phenomena, either mechanically or radiometrically. The radiometric methods reconstruct the 3-D from the reflected or backscattered information about the specific objects or phe...

Three-dimensional coastal water front reconstruction from RADARSAT-1 synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite data

This paper presents work done to utilize RADARSAT-1 synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data to reconstruct 3-D of coastal water front. The velocity bunching model was used to extract the significant wave height from RADARSAT-1 SAR, while the Volterra model was used to model the front movements. B-spline also was implemented to reconstruct the front into 3-D. This study shows that the integration be...
